finished!

hi all, well sorry for the lack over updates lately, we have finished seeding all 5300 acres, thats a lot of dirt you know! i ended up seeding the last 300 acres or so of flax and oats, so hopefully i put them in the ground the right way up!
most of the crops have lept out of the ground and all the grass and trees are greening up really quickly since the rain we have had. there has been about 60mm over the last two weeks which has been real nice. the countryside changes dramatically in a short space of time.

on the weekend just gone i went camping in a national park type set up with most of the other trainees. the weekend was put on by the host families in that area. the park was over near the alberta border and was real nice. the weekend before that myself and 2 other guys went to medicine hat in alberta. yes thats right medicine hat is the name of a town. good times were had on both weekends and more country side was seen. i am probably going to another host family weekend this weekend in a different area.

have fun and i will try an keep posting more frequently, daniel

now it rains

well i think i have experienced most weather condidions over here except a blizzard. we have had about 30mm of rain last night and today so the tractor is getting a service and the air seeder is in the shed and getting a checking over. the rain is just timely cause it means everything we have planted will come up and the stuff that was to dry to plant we can now plant.

havent done anything else exciting but work this last week. well i can say i have been as close to the queen as i have ever been, she is only an hour done the road in regina for a few shin digs. right at the time when the canadian governement is about to collapse. great timing. the government is even more stuff up than the aussie government.

well go the maroons in the state of origin (which i hope they show on fox world sports here so i can watch it, cause they show one nrl game and one afl game each week) and i'll catch you all later. daniel

busy busy busy

hello everybody, well busy busy busy over here, but when there is 5300 acres to plant i guess it will be. the weather here is still very variable, the maximum temp last monday was -1 and then the maximum yesterday was 25. Planting is going well the tractor only stops for 4 or five hours each night. i have still been rolling and rock picking and shifting truck and loading truck all that sort of thing.

i went to an apostolic church this morning and it was allright, might see wat some others are like still though.

i am still trying to download a program so i can put pictures up on this thing. and will hopefully put some pictures in an album on the mSC website but will let you all know when i do.

bye for now, daniel
